Solo Bass
I never wanted to become a solo bass player, but my obsession with practicing bass made every band I joined feel boring after a short time. Naturally, I started composing my own riffs and pieces, which eventually led me to record my first songs. Then I was busking on a streets just playing solo bass and eventually to my first solo album.
But it was music for bass players, which was never really my goal. Then I experimented and made a project with my wife Mara – Karmafree. Just a 6-string bass, vocals, various effects, a loop station, and plenty of experimentation. Yet after a while I felt the urge to return to the roots, to leave everything behind and to see what I can do just with my hands and 4 strings and acoustic instrument.
As a result, this led to a breakthrough in the bass world and the creation of a new genre—Percussive Fingerstyle on Acoustic Bass. From there, endorsements from brands followed, along with solo shows, workshops, a video school, numerous music videos, and eventually, my second solo album.

BASS VIDEOS
Solo Bass Videos
Here are few videos of my solo compositions. Visit my youtube channel for more
“Prometheus”
First and most successful composition I’ve composed. I haven’t thought much, we just went to one office building in my home town Riga at night. And little that I know that this video will change everything for me
“Illusion Of Change”
Slow and melodic song. We filmed video in abandoned church in the middle of forest in Latvia. We had to drive 4 hours to get there, but results are stunning.
“Aviator”
Recorded on semi-acoustic bass. That’s the craziest place I’ve recorded music video. Abandoned airplane at the abandoned airfield, next to Riga airport.
“Flat Earth”
That’s the most complicated composition I ever composed. I did this on purpose to expand my capabilities. But it is so complicated so that I played it live only 2 times. And the Earth is NOT Flat 🙂
“Billie Jean”
8 bass players playing one cover song! Funny experience at the GuitCon in Germany
